The Taylor Group was established in 2002. David Taylor began working with glass at Kent State University. After graduating he began to make functional glassware, gifts and transitioned into making lighting.

The work draws inspiration from the arts and crafts movement of the early twentieth century. The combination of the fluid nature of molten glass and the hot working of forged steel give the work a distinct rustic character with a modern edge.

Much of the colored glass is inspired by his love for the outdoors and growing up backpacking in the Boy Scouts. He works at using the color to create a mood that gives the viewer a chance to be inspired by the vivid color shapes and fluidness of the forms.

The glassware is used in residential homes, businesses, and can be custom designed. The colors and dimensions can be adapted for a specific sight.
